He is a Ph.D. and professor at the School of Design and Creativity, Tongji University, and a professor of the School of Art, Design and Architecture at Aalto University in Finland. Research directions include service architecture design, user household value creation, mass customization strategies, user innovation concepts, user experience management processes and tools. Won three Finnish innovation awards: the 2016 Quality Innovation Award (2016), the Espoo Mayors Innovation Award and the Espoo Award and Medal for City of Espoo).
